Tales of Tapio, the mystical forest

The forests conceal magic, mystique, traditions, mythology, and strange wonders within them. When you listen closely, observe, and let your imagination run free, you can surely catch a glimpse of gnomes, fairies, and elves. Come and hear the secrets of the forest elves!

We Finns are a people of the forest. Do you want to know how our ancestors navigated nature? What rituals were required to appease the spirits of the woods, to ensure a successful hunt, or even just to fell a tree? How did one ask for permission to build a home when the location was determined by the spirits of the forest, according to belief?

On this forest excursion, we will explore Finnish mythology, the stories of the ancient inhabitants of the forest, and our relationship with nature as Finns. We will marvel at old spells and magic, traditions, and beliefs while singing folk and campfire songs accompanied by an accordion and guitar.

Implementation Date and Duration

Tales of Tapio can be arranged from May to the end of September. The duration is 2-3 hours, depending on the location. Please check availability in the event calendar.

Excursion Locations

Locations vary and can be chosen according to preferences. The excursion is suitable for all ages and can be made accessible if needed. The departure point depends on the location and will be communicated to participants separately. Please note that participants must have their own weather-appropriate gear and footwear.

Participant Numbers and Pricing

The maximum number of participants is 20. The excursion can also be organized for larger groups as an event. Please request a separate quote for larger groups here. The minimum charge for the excursion is 400 €.
